Among the materials of the new generation, a worthy place is occupied by a polymer-sand tile, which includes crushed polymer raw materials, sand and a coloring pigment. All components are mixed, heated and pressed under pressure. The technology allows you to repeat the shape, color, size and quality in each product. The tile not only retains the advantages of its counterparts, but also significantly surpasses them in some respects. It is used in the arrangement of cottages, terraces, courtyards, sidewalks, footpaths and garage entrances.

Features of polymer-sand paving slabs

Each individual use of polymer sand tiles can be unique, since it is possible to combine color shades and reproduce in reality beautiful garden paths of any geometric shape that our imagination can only imagine.

The strength and durability of products is difficult to dispute. Products withstand high mechanical loads and are not amenable to splitting. During operation, the formation of cement dust is not observed on their surface. Walking on the pavement is pleasant and safe, as a good grip on the shoes prevents falls. To keep the tracks clean, it is enough to rinse them with water. Frost-resistant, non-slippery and water-repellent surface attracts owners of private plots. It withstands several hundred cycles of freezing and thawing.

One of the advantages of the product is the absence of softening and fumes in hot weather, so there is no need to be afraid of carcinogen poisoning and suffer from unpleasant odors. The tile has proven itself in an aggressive environment. It is oil and petrol resistant, resistant to acids and alkalis, it can be dismantled and laid again. Technological features of production make it possible to produce light products that for many years, under the influence of direct sunlight, retain the brightness of color.

How to lay polymer-sand tiles?

The material is laid manually or with the help of special tile-laying machines, leaving gaps for expansion. The advantage of a tile is that it can be cut with a grinder not only in a straight line, but also cut out curly elements. The base for the tile is sand or gravel. As a rule, the top layer of the earth is removed and compacted. The tiles are laid with curbs, so the grooves dug on both sides are covered with a small layer of sand, moistened and rammed. With the help of a cord, curb lines are outlined. Before laying the curb, a cement screed pillow is prepared for it.

To improve the quality of work, experts recommend dividing the soil and the base under the tile with overlapped geotextiles. Construction tape is used to fasten the edges of the canvases. Then sand is gradually poured, impregnated with water and compacted. Tiles are laid on a slightly moistened mixture of sand and cement (1: 3), which is poured onto a reinforcing mesh laid on sand.

If you choose the option with crushed stone, it is compacted and poured with a cement screed. Then lay out the polymer-sand tiles using a special adhesive or sand-cement mortar. You can level the crushed stone with sand, then pour the main layer of sand on it, compact it and lay the tiles.

In any case, they work with a rubber mallet, which level the laying, observing the distance between the products of 3-5 mm. At the last stage of work, the gaps are filled with sand or a sand-cement mixture.
